Hearing Aid Batteries

Eveready D14 Hearing Aid "A" Battery

This Eveready 1˝ volt D14 hearing aid "A" battery was a British-made battery.

It was used in 1-piece vacuum tube hearing aids in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

It weighed 0.5 oz., and measured 2" tall by 9/16" in diameter. It was the same size as a current AA battery.

This battery is corroded and is in pretty bad shape. Many of the dry cells made in the 1940s and 1950s leaked and corroded their hearing aids if left in them after they were dead.
