Hearing Aid Batteries

Medresco (Ministry of Health) OL-419 Hearing Aid Battery

The Ministry of Health in the United Kingdom provided batteries for users of their Medresco (Medical Research Council) vacuum tube hearing aids in the 1950s.

 This 1˝ volt carbon-zinc battery weighed 0.5 oz. (14 g), and measured 1 15/16" in height by 9/16" in diameter (5.0 x 1.4 cm.
