PowerOne No. p675 Zinc-Air Cochlear Implant Battery
The PowerOne p675 "Implant plus" batteries were higher-capacity 675
batteries made specifically to meet the higher-power requirements of
cochlear implants. They came out in 2006.
The German-made PowerOne p675 zinc-air batteries produced 1.45 volts.
These zinc-air batteries were the same size as other 675 batteries
and measured 0.455" in diameter
by 0.210" thick. |

Note: these batteries had higher capacity, not longer life. When used in
regular hearing aids they didn't last any longer just because they had a
higher capacity.

The bottom (positive end) of the PowerOne p675 battery. Note the 5 small air holes.
These air holes are sealed by a (blue) plastic tab to keep air out until
they are ready to be used. By doing this, zinc-air
batteries have a long shelf life. When the tab is removed, the battery
starts "working" and even if you don't use it, in a few weeks it will be
dead.
