Hearing Aid Batteries

377 Silver Oxide Hearing Aid Battery

The No. 377 1˝ volt silver oxide hearing aid battery was made by an unknown manufacturer probably in the 1970s.

The No. 377 silver oxide battery weighed less than a gram, and measured 0.10" thick by 0.26" in diameter (0.25 x 0.67 cm).

Note: high silver prices in the 1980s sounded the death-knell of silver oxide batteries. In addition, the then new silicon transistors could now run on the lower voltage (1.45 volts) of the zinc-air batteries.
