Leader (Ammeter) Battery Tester
The Leader ammeter battery tester was made in the USA around 1945.
It measured 2" in diameter by ⅝" thick (5.1 x 1.7 cm) and weighed
1.8 oz. (52 g).
The positive prong (bottom) was fixed to the battery tester, while
the negative probe was on a short wire.

one scale that read up to 35 amperes. This was more than enough to test the
"A" and
"B" batteries used in hearing aids in the early 1940s through
the early 1950s.

To test a battery's amperage, you touched the positive prong to the
positive terminal of the battery, and touched the negative lead (bottom)
to the negative terminal of the battery.
