Ear Trumpets (Ear Horns)

Collapsible 3-Section Hard Rubber Ear Trumpet (Ear Horn)

There are no manufacturers markings on this hard-rubber (vulcanite) three-section collapsible ear trumpet  It was likely manufactured around 1910, or perhaps a bit earlier.

This ear trumpet measures 13⅞" (35.2 cm) when extended (as shown here) and 9" (22.8 cm) when collapsed. It weighed 5.1 oz. (146 g).

This ear trumpet is a bit unusual in that the bell end is set at a sharp right angle to the main stem of the trumpet.

The bend in the ear tip section is made after the ear tip section is inserted into the middle section. This way, the ear-tip section can never fall out.
