Maico Model AX "Universal" Transistor (Body) Hearing Aid
The Maico Model AX was manufactured by Maico Electronics, Inc. of
Minneapolis, MN in 1961. The name "Maico" was derived from the
initials of the Medical Acoustic Instrument Company.
The Model AX had a blue "W" on the mic grill. It was a 3-transistor
aid and came with a t-coil. It
had a turquoise blue plastic front and a
stainless steel back, and measured 2" x 1⅜" x
½" thick. This small body aid only weighed 1½ oz. without the
battery.
