Body Type Transistor Hearing Aids

Willco "Monarch" EL-PC Transistor (Body) Hearing Aid

The Willco "Monarch" EL-PC transistor hearing aid was manufactured by Willco Horgerate GmbH. of Germany in 1966.

This hearing aid measured 2¾" x 2⅛" x ¾" thick.

The cord and receiver (earpiece) are shown to the right. The ear mold is snapped to the receiver.

The top of the Monarch EL-PC showing the microphone (left), the volume control (top right) and the t-coil switch (below the volume control). It had 3 positions—"T" t-coil only, "TM" t-coil and microphone at the same time, and "M" microphone only.

On the left are two "screwdriver" controls. The tone (center left) could be set to L (low), N (normal) and H (high). The power output (bottom left) could be set to any value between the minimum and maximum to fit the person's specific hearing loss.
