Behind the Ear (BTE) Transistor Hearing Aids

Beltone "Minuet" Behind-the-Ear Hearing Aid

The Beltone "Minuet" behind-the-ear hearing aid was produced by the Beltone Electronics Corp. of Chicago, IL in 1958.

This hearing aid was a bit unusual as it was designed with a plastic case with a metal back. Also, with this design, there were left and right models. The one shown here is the left model.

The battery door swung down from the top. This hearing aid used a No. 400 battery. The battery door acted as the on-off switch.

The Beltone Minuet came in two colors, flesh (above) and gray (left). This was a bit unusual as most hearing aids of this period were flesh-colored.
