Vacuum Tube Hearing Aids: 1946-1953

Otarion Model E4 Vacuum Tube Hearing Aid

The Otarion Model E4 vacuum tube hearing aid was a 1-piece hearing aid manufactured by Otarion Electronics, Inc. of Chicago in 1947.

It housed 3 vacuum tubes (2 top left and 1 bottom left) in an anodized aluminum case. It was powered by a 22˝ volt 412E “B” battery (bottom right), and a round RM-4 mercury “A” cell (top right). It measured 4⅛” by 2⅜” by ⅞”, and weighed about 7 oz. with batteries.
