Zenith Miniature 75E Vacuum Tube Hearing Aid The Zenith Miniature 75E vacuum tube hearing aid sub-model was manufactured by the Hearing Aid Division of the Zenith Radio Corporation of Chicago, IL beginning sometime after July, 1949. The front of the case was partially "frosted" and partially clear plastic, while the back was of gold-colored anodized aluminum, all set over a black plastic chassis. The Zenith Miniature 75E measured 4” by 2˝” by ⅞” thick, and weighed 6 oz. with the batteries. The microphone grill consisted of 2 slots on each side of the Zenith crest (top center). The "Zenith" name is directly below the microphone grill. The Zenith Model 75E used three vacuum tubes. It sold for $75.00, thus the model number also served as its price code. | | Click picture for larger view | | | | |

The most obvious difference between these two aids is that the Miniature 75 had a gold-colored anodized aluminum front, while the later Miniature 75E sub-model had a clear/"frosted" plastic front.
