Comfort Audio Model 900 "Contego" FM System

The Comfort Audio Model 900 "Contego" FM system was manufactured by Comfort Audio of Halmstad, Sweden in 2010.

It is a digital FM system with a number of cool features.

The system comes with the headphones (shown), but it works equally well with earbuds of your choice.

The Comfort Audio Model 900 "Contego" FM System showing both the transmitter (left) and the receiver (right). The transmitter and receiver are identical in size, namely 3⅞" x 1 13/16" x ⅞" (9.9 x 4.6 x 2.3 cm).

They both look the same from all directions except from the top. The transmitter has one row of three buttons down the center, whereas the receiver has the same row of three buttons down the center but with the addition of two rocker switches—one on each side of the center buttons.

The Comfort Audio Model 900 "Contego" FM System transmitter. The transmitter only weighs 2.0 oz. (56 g).

The transmitter has 38 channels between 904 and 926 mHz. It has an effective transmitting range of 75 feet.

The signal is encrypted so no one can listen in to your private conversations.

Note, this jack accepts either a microphone level signal or a line level signal. You set it via the keys on the front. An icon in the bottom left of the screen displays either a line in jack or a microphone.

You can set the microphones for omnidirectional pickup or directional pickup by pressing the top button (directional) or the bottom button (omnidirectional).

The Comfort Audio Model 900 "Contego" FM System receiver only weighs 2.1 oz. (60 g).

It lets you hear via the transmitter or via it's built-in omnidirectional and directional microphones as you wish. The left rocker switch is for the volume level for the FM transmitter and the right rocker switch is for the built-in microphones.

You can set these volume levels independently so you can listen to one, the other, or both at the same time if you so wish.

The Comfort Audio Model 900 "Contego" FM System comes with one power wall adapter. If you want to charge both units at the same time, you can plug in the "Y" adapter.

The Comfort Audio Model 900 "Contego" FM System comes with an audio patch cord for plugging into a sound board or TV for example. It has standard red and black male RCA plugs on one end and a stereo ⅛" mini-phone plug at the other end.
