Hearing Aid Batteries

Eveready E450E Mercury Hearing Aid Battery

This is an Eveready E450E 1.4 volt mercury battery for body worn transistor hearing aids of the mid-1950s.

It weighed about ¼ oz., and measured
9/16" high by 7/16" in diameter.

Mercury batteries are no longer sold today because of the large quantities of mercury in them and the consequent environmental concerns.
