Hearing Aid Batteries

Deac 50DK Mercury Hearing Aid Battery

The Deac 50DK 1.4 volt mercury hearing aid battery was made in Germany by the Deutsche Edison-Akkumulatoren-Company GMBH (DEAC). It was used in behind-the-ear and eyeglass hearing aids in the mid 1950s.

The Deac 50DK mercury battery weighed around 0.15 oz. (2 g) and measured 0.238" high by 0.615" in diameter (0.6 x 1.5 cm). It was the same thickness and diameter as the 625 mercury battery, but had a bit different shape, and probably worked wherever a 625 battery was used.
