Hearing Aid Batteries

Energizer E90 Type "N" Hearing Aid Battery

The Energizer E90 1˝ volt type "N" battery was made for Energizer Holdings, Inc. of St. Louis, MO in 2005.

The Energizer E90 was an alkaline  battery and weighed 0.2 oz. (6 g). It measured 1 3/16" high by 7/16" in diameter (2.9 x 1.1 cm).

An earlier Energizer E90 battery when Energizer was still a brand name of Eveready and owned by Union Carbide Corp. of Danbury, CT.

This battery may be from around 1980.

On the left the warning reads, "Warning: do not install backwards, charge or put in fire—may explode or leak."

"N"-sized batteries were commonly used in transistor body aids in the 1950s and 1960s.

They are still used for some assistive listening devices today
