Eveready Model E-4 Hearing Aid Battery Tester

Close-up of the meter of the Eveready Model E-4 hearing aid battery tester.

The model number (E-4) is shown in the bottom left corner of the meter.

The meter was easy to read. If the needle remained in the red, the battery needed to be replaced. If it was in the green, the battery was still good.

To make things easy the batteries were grouped by type (Mini-max were carbon zinc "B" batteries for vacuum-tube hearing aids) Silver oxide (and 1˝ volt carbon-zinc batteries) and Mercury batteries of all sizes.

For each position of the switch, the voltage of the battery is shown (as well as some examples of batteries of this type).
