Hearing Aid Battery Testers

Telex Deluxe Voltmeter for Hearing Aid Batteries

This Telex deluxe battery meter is a dual range meter for testing both A (1.5 volt) and B (22.5 volt) batteries.

It was used for testing hearing aid batteries in the period from 1949 when it was first made to 1952.

To measure "A" batteries, you lift the spring loaded arm up and place the battery with the positive terminal facing down on the bottom contact. Note: this bottom contact has two positions. For measuring "A" batteries it is pushed in (see right).

To measure "B" batteries, you likewise lift the spring loaded arm up and place the battery with the positive terminal facing down on the bottom contact. However in this case, you pull the bottom contact out (see right). This switches the meter to the higher voltage range of the "B" batteries.
