Ear Molds

Western Electric Custom Ear Molds

The Western Electric Company of Kearny, NJ began making custom ear molds since the stock ear molds weren't comfortable and didn't fit everyone.

Here is an early Western Electric custom ear mold made of hard black rubber. The number on this mold is W2042.

Another Western Electric custom ear mold from the 1930s. It was made of hard black rubber. Notice how the later custom ear molds had more of an ear hook (top) than the earlier versions had. (Ear hooks in the early versions were almost non-existent.) The number on this mold is WV110.
