Brass London Dome Ear Trumpet (Ear Horn)
Here is another example of a brass London Dome ear trumpet.
This style of trumpet was named because of its similarity in shape to
the dome on St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, England.
The design is a parabolic reflector into an ear tube which achieves
considerable gain while maintaining a small size.
This ear trumpet measures 2" across the bell. The dome itself is
3"
high, while the height to the top of the ear piece is 3¼". It
has an ivory ear tip.
The manufacturer is unknown. This London Dome likely dates to
somewhere around 1900. |
