Ear Trumpets (Ear Horns)

Small Black London Dome Ear Trumpet (Ear Horn)

This small black metal London Dome ear trumpet has an ivory ear tip.

The design is a parabolic reflector that directs sound into the ear tube which achieves considerable gain while maintaining a small size.

It got its name because of its similarity in shape to the dome on St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, England.

This ear trumpet measures 2" across the bell. The dome itself is 2˝" high, while the height to the top of the ear piece is 3˝".

The manufacturer is unknown.

The three ads shown here are for similar (not identical London Domes to the one pictured above, but they give you and idea of the prices and the years they were available.

These ads make fascinating reading as they show that all the hype used years ago is no different than what we have today.

This ad came from the Sears Roebuck catalogue of 1902.
