Behind the Ear (BTE) Transistor Hearing Aids

Acousticon Model A-600 "Privat Ear" Behind-the-Ear Hearing Aid

The Acousticon Model A-600 "Privat Ear" behind-the-ear hearing aid was produced by Dictograph Products Inc. of New York, NY  in 1958.

This 3-transistor hearing aid design was such that there were both left and right models. Shown here is the model for the right ear.

This hearing aid measured 1⅞" x ⅝" x 7/16" (4.8 x 1.7 x 1.1 cm).

This hearing aid used a No. 675 mercury battery.

Acousticon referred to this hearing aid as the "Privat Ear". This name was also used for models A-610 and A-620.
