Behind the Ear (BTE) Transistor Hearing Aids

Acousticon Model A-610 "Privat Ear" Behind-the-Ear Hearing Aid

The Acousticon Model A-610 "Privat Ear" behind-the-ear hearing aid was produced by Dictograph Products Inc. of New York, NY  in 1958.

This 3-transistor hearing aid was designed with an external receiver (missing) rather than an internal receiver which was far more common.

This hearing aid measured 1 9/16" x 9/16" x ˝" (4.0 x 1.4 x 1.2 cm).

The external receiver was similar to those used on body aids of this time. It would have looked similar to the external receiver on this Dahlberg Model D-13 aid.

Acousticon referred to this hearing aid as the "Privat Ear". This name was also used for models A-600 and A-620.
